 Photo by Oliver Suarez This weekend as Pacquiao continued to concentrate and train for his fight against Clottey, he took extra time to greet and sign autograph for his fans. On the other hand Mayweather continued his quest to bash and tarnish Pacquiao’s legacy.
In my last article, Can Mosley Afford Not To Agree On An Olympic Style Testing, I talked about how Mayweather and his camp were constantly using Pacquiao’s name to promote their fight and keep the former relevant. Some may have disagreed, but once again Mayweather proved me right.
In a recent interview with radio-planet.tv Mayweather said, “In a fighter’s career, a fighter starts off good and he’s good until the end of his career or a fighter starts off good and then goes downhill towards the end of his career. A fighter doesn’t start like Manny Pacquiao, just ordinary, and then once he gets over 25, he becomes an extraordinary fighter. It doesn’t work like that in this sport of boxing,”
It seems Mayweather is in awe of Pacquiao’s recent accomplishments, and doubts his own ability to match it.
Does his statements even hold true? Let’s analyze one of his statements, “A fighter doesn’t start like Manny Pacquiao, just ordinary, and then once he gets over 25 (years old) he becomes an extraordinary fighter. It doesn’t work like that in this sport of boxing,”
First off, where did he get the notion that Pacquiao was only an ordinary fighter in the beginning? He may have been unknown at the beginning of his career to the American audience, but he was an accomplished boxer in the lower weight classes and fought many of the best fighters in his division. Pacquiao had been an OPBF flyweight champion, WBC flyweight champion, WBC International super bantamweight champion even before winning the IBF super bantamweight title from Ledwaba.
Second, there are a number of great boxers that did not have a great start, but achieved greatness in the latter part of their careers. Even Marvin Hagler had a couple of losses and draws in the first part of his career and he turned out to be one of the best middleweights of all time. Another great fighter, Antonio Cervantes, who is considered by many as probably the best junior welterweight in history only had 12 loses in 106 fights, but eight of those came in the first five years of his career.
A prime example today is Bernard Hopkins. A virtual unknown early in his career, he is now regarded as one of the best fighters in history. A common characteristic of all these fighters is their willingness to fight the best at anytime and Pacquiao certainly has exhibited that trait. Like old saying, “If you want to be the best, then you have to fight the best”
Also, there is no specific age that one can say that a fighter’s skill or success should tail off or not be able to be improved upon. We only need to look at Hopkins once again as an example. In fact, Mayweather is arguably a better fighter than when he was 25 years old because of his experience combined with his superior physical abilities. Even in other sports, one can argue that Jordan and Kobe became a much better player in their later years because of experience and their dedication to improve and learn new skills,
Pacquiao has improved immensely and maximized his talent because he’s fought the best. How many times have we seen Pacquiao come to a fight as a huge underdog only to prove everyone wrong? How many times have we seen Floyd come in a fight as an underdog? Maybe the fight against Diego is the only time.
It’s true that Floyd is ultra-talented, and would rarely be an underdog against most fighters, but the fact still remains that there were many great fighters that he never fought during their peak. He never fought Mosley, Margarito, Tszyu, and Cotto when they were at the top of their game even though fans were clamoring for him to face them.
Also Floyd Jr. must realize that many fighters don’t have his pedigree, Unlike Mayweather, Pacquiao didn’t come from a ‘boxing’ family with a wealth of knowledge about the intricacies of the sport. If Pacquiao did, then he would have been a much polished fighter very early in his career. In addition, Pacquiao grew up dirt poor, and did not have an opportunity to polish his skills in the amateurs because he turned pro at only 16 years old in order to help his family.
Mayweather often points out Pacquiao’s number of loses to minimize his ‘greatness’, when in fact he’s lost more, if you take into account the former’s amateur record. Mayweather lost six times as an amateur, while Pacquiao who started his professional career at 16 has only lost three times.
Now let’s analyze another statement of his “In a fighter’s career, a fighter starts off good and he’s good until the end of his career or a fighter starts off good and then goes downhill towards the end of his career…”
If a fighter starts off good and stays good until the end of their career, then he must have been an overachiever or lazy. It’s either a fighter with a great work ethic, but whose limited physical abilities hinder him from achieving a greater level of success or an excellent athlete, whose lack of desire and work ethic impedes him from achieving his potential. If not either of those two above, then it’s either bad luck or they were never given the chance to prove their greatness.
Pacquiao has certainly been blessed in his career by being able to constantly prove himself against the best fighters because of his popularity and being guided by one of the best trainers in the sport.
In addition, great athletes such as Pacquiao do not stay at the same level that they were in the early part of their careers because of their work ethic. One of the main reasons that Pacquiao has achieved his level of greatness is he’s a willing and dedicated student of the ‘Sweet Science”, who continues to hone his skills.
Pacquiao is also at his prime and not at the end of his career, so there is no reason why we shouldn’t expect more greatness from Pacquiao. Mayweather Jr. is older than Pacquiao and the former is still performing at a high level, so he’s even contradicting his statement. The fact is Pacquiao’s skills has always been undermined by his critics and will constantly find excuses for his success because they already formed a preconceived idea of what he can or can’t do.

Yeah, Floyd doubts his own ability because he is suggesting that Manny’s rise is abnormal. I guess everyone who questioned Bonds’ numbers at age 37 were jealous and questioning themselves..and people questioned themselves when they watched a 40 year old Roger Clemens post sub 2.00 ERA’s…since you know… that was abnormal. You may cover boxing, but I doubt you understand it how Mayweather is. Just another case where you are killing the messenger instead of the message. Floyd isn’t the only one that questions Manny… he’s just one of the few who speak openly about it.

Great article, I completely agree. Mayweather would always demean the the success of Pacquiao because he wants to be recognized as the best boxer in the world. But unfortunately for Mayweather people around the world have common sense and knows what kind of envious person he is. More power to you Mr. Oliver Suarez.

Great analysis Oliver. So in essence, Mayweather has more loses from the age of 16 vs pacquiao. may has 6 and pacman has only 3. and to cap that pac was already a pro at 16. such amazing feats indeed by manny.

Arum and Roach are the one who have been using Mayweather’s name to keep their fight hype. Every other day there’s a story about how “Manny still really wants to beat Floyd bad” and all this nonsense.

you are correct . i followed pacman’s career fr the start. he was very good before and became great and well known now coz he got the upgraded training from roach and is fighting in america .
the problem w/ floyd is he thinks the boxing world revolves around him and his environment. somewhere out there in this big wide world is the next boxing great .. in devastated haiti , the ghettos of south america or the boondocks of southeast asia !

winning 6 world titles in 5 weight divisions while staying undefeated is no small feat if you think it is then you know nothing about boxing. you talk about the greats but i bet NONE of them would have refused a simple random blood test (teaspoon of blood) b4 fighting especially when their opponent will be subjected to the exact same thing

Floyd talks about all of the opponents losses but he has only fought one undefeated fighter since Diego. Look at Arturo(R.I.P.), Marquez, Zab, Sharmba Mitchell, Oscar etc.. All you have to do is go to BoxRec.com and put him on blast. He has not fought Trinadad, Mosley, Vernon (R.I.P.), Wink, Hopkins whom all have losses because they fight each other. I think Floyd is great but he contradicts himself over and over and he actually creates an uneven playing field by numbing his hands with xcolydine. He’s just fears the knock out and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Mosley fight is called off if Pac wins. Why risk two ass whippings when you can just face one.

I like this article, informative (with facts and figures), logical, and makes sense. Analysis is well done! This writer is unlike other writers who are irresponsible, whose ideas are a creation of their hate and bias feelings toward another boxer(s) or persons who do not know the truth and can not separate facts from ill feelings.

Honestly, couldn’t have said it better myself…don’t nobody ever expect Manny to win cause he fights the hardest fights, yet he wins. His work ethic is like no other, and hand speed and volume punches make power!

Oliver Suarez I swear this is the last time I’ll ever read an article from you. We live in the steroid era and for a guy to turn down 25-40 million to make less than 10 should say a lot. Manny Pacquiao is on steroids. I really hope that writing boxing articles is a hobby for you because if you get paid to do this your editor should be fired for approving the majority of your articles. If Manny Pacquiao was a black guy the media wouldn’t stop until he was blackballed out of boxing just like they did Barry Bonds. This reminds me of Ali back in the day. He didnt get his respect until after he retired. The media hated Ali because he could speak and think for himself. The same is going on with Mayweather. At the end of the day I have to beleive my eyes. Floyd Mayweather is a boxing legend. Manny Pacquiao is the equivalent of Mark McGwire. Everybody knows in the back of their mind that he’s juicing but they’re gonna let it slide because its entertaining. This is one of the main reasons why boxing is dying.

No matter what crap is said about either fighter you have to ask yourself,,”What are the facts”? And the fact is…..Pacquiao pulled out of a 40 million plus fight to avoid random drug tests. Period.

I even question fighter of the year since Manny refuses random testing. How can anybody overlook that? Mr Romero is right,when you look at the facts Manny has beaten a bunch of guys who’s hype didnt match their current achievements. Big names coming off of big losses. How can you call a man fighter of the year when he out and out avoided a 3rd warranted fight specially since many thinks he loss the 2nd one.

Mayweather is jealous about the greatness of Pacquiao. Pacquiao shows his greatness in the ring that’s why he became famous, no question on that, his speed and ability to fight toe to toe is huge entertainment to the viewers and they all agree about his accomplishment, he became more popular when he knocked out Hatton in 2nd round then Cotto. Losers seeking some excuses about his achievement and I don’t see any point of view that Pacquiao cheated his greatness, he is just pure clean fighter. Pacquiao always shows excitement in the ring and people love it. Same thing with Michael Jordan, Tiger and Kobe, people love to watch because of their talent, showmanship and ability. Does Mayweather have that kind of ability? I guess, he does if he ZIPPPP his mouth and stay humble… He’s just destroying his reputation for his critics against Pacquiao

This analysis is indeed very precise to the point. But Floyd of course would never admit that he is NOT at all capable of matching Pacquiao and would rather not fight him at all. In fact, when he came back from retirement, he assumed incorrectly that Pacquiao would lose to a real welterweight as Cotto. That would propel him back to P4P No. 1 status. But the reverse happens. For so many years, boxing fans like me had been wanting to see him fighting real welterweights but none of them happened. He is right when he said that after 25, a fighter starts going downhill. That was the exact reason he fought De La Hoya because DLH was already taking bad loses those days. Which clearly means he (DLH) has been going downhill strait. BUt Floyd bluntly refused a 2nd fight against DLH who supposedly won that fight. In reality, to this time, Floyd would never fight anyone of Pacquiao and Mosley’s caliber as he knows he will definitely lose. BTW, did he already signed to contract against Mosley? If not, he should stop whining and moaning and sign the contract. You should tell him that there are a bunch of good welterweight willing to be his dance partners such Pacquiao, Mosley, Margarito, Cotto, Clottey and of course Paul Williams.

Anyone who became famous in sports are humble, I saw that with Jordan, Kobe, Tiger and also Pacquiao. They train hard to become more popular and show that in action. Mayweather just keeps on talking non-sense words which will destroy his own reputation, He can just do his best and show that in the ring that he is better fighter or pound for pound king. I never hear anything from Pacquiao against any opponent, he is showing that in action inside the ring, that’s why people love him.

Since this article seem to favor Pacquiao it’s understandable for the author to undermind Floyd’s accomplisments while applauding Pacquiao’s. Of course, articles that favor Floyd are just as guilty. I’ve followe boxing for over 30 years. Bob Arum had no intention to place his fighter agaisnt the more skilled Floyd. Mayweather is the better skilled boxer, hands down. Bob Arum knows this.

3. He doesn’t think he’s above the Nevada Commission and the sport of boxing

However if he is fighting fighters who are already physically diasadvantaged and obviously inferior then how do we measure the PFB skills you mentioned. It’s like a skilled orthodentist but only extract teeth so it’s very difficult to see how good he really is.

yea he dsont box for money yet he always wants the bigger share andif he dosnt get it he walks but he does not fight for money right…im sure…n i bet its eating him up that floyd proly goign to bring in about 30mil for his fight still..because they saying mosley will be getting clsoe to 20mil after ppv sells if it does well so you know floyd getting a bigger cut so more money his way so its funny that he will make more money the pac in his next fight and fight a better fighter and get more props for beating him and they are pushing for blood test from the commmission so he might not even have to argue for that anymore…and the reason why i say they will make blood test not jsut for floyd but golden boy fighters wil not fight top rank fighters unless theresa blood test so that will make alot of greeat fights not happen aand lose alot of money and when the boxing world starts losing money thats when they will jump in lol…

MrRomero, You are right indeed that Floyd is a very skilled fighter as I was saying that before myself. But, if you had followed all this mess, everytime that Floyd says or insinuate something, its always that he is the better boxer, whup his a$$, and Pacquiao has no chance at all, etc,etc. Now, i dont know about you if I deem that someone is not capable of beating me whatsoever, that guy can use steroid and i’ll still fight him then humiliate his a$$ so bad. Cassius Clay proves he can be a villain but also a better boxer. If Floyd would want to emulate Cassius Clay then he should prove it in the ring too just like the former. Greatness cannot be seen by mouth nor record as sometimes its deceiving. Joe Calzaghe retired unfeated in his weight class. How come he did not get voted as Fighter of the Decade by the respectable BWAA. In case you dont know, its the quality of your opponent and how you end up the fight which is the real basis for that. Floyd, never ever fought a real welterweight when he jump to that division. Those days are dominated by Mosley, Margarito, Cotto and Paul Williams. He retired instead. So now, all he can do is moan and groan then says the other guy avoided him by not submitting to him newfound rules. Since when he became a boxing commissioner and now a good samaritan too. Bottomline, he should retire again as I could see he is not capable of beating the top 5 welterweights of today. You see, mrRomero, i am not a boxing analyst nor tactician, but watching boxing and diehard fan since the days of Cassius Clay, i could tell that Floyd is really the one ducking this fight, not Pacquiao. He should really stop talking, move on, sign the contract with Mosley and prove me and everyone else wrong. Unfortunately, even if he signs the contract, I still believe that fight would not even happen at all. As I know his history of ducking and excuses for the last 5 years.

Floyd doesn’t want to risk loosing! Let’s not forget that he passed up a re-match with Oscar for a whole lot of money. He doesn’t challange himself against true Champions and is so worried about his undefeated record that everybody else has a few looses because they all actually fought one another at a time. Oh, the last undefeated champion Rocky Marciano isnt talked about much so Floyd will go down undefeated if he has his way and have never really fought anybody in their prime since Diego (r.i.p.). He will be as well known as Marciano but known for having better skills in the ring and out of the ring skills of the best boxer who protects his undefeated record with his Hall Of Fame skill of ducking everyone.

There is only a small window of opportunity for PPV event fights for any fighter. A fighter would be luckey to get 2 PPV bouts in a year. So you can’t blame Floyd for not fighting every boxer out there, just like you can’t blame Pacquiao for the same thing. Therefore if you blame Floyd for ducking fighters, you might as well bring up boxers that Manny Pacquiao has avoided as well.

You know….This sport is about money. It’s always been about money, just like any other sport out there. When I see Pac fans blowing smoke saying that Pac is not concerned about money, then tell him to fight Clottey for FREE. These comments in defense of Pac are poor excuses and only confirm that it’s not about boxing to Pac follower…it’s just about Pacquiao. It’s great to love a boxer, but lets not be ridiculas.

Pacquiao has not faught Andre Berto, Margarito, Paul Williams, Cintron or Mosley. Yet, Floyd is being accused of ducking. That’s funny.
Pacquia faught a drained Oscar, drained and dmanged goods cotto, Drained Morales, overated Hattan and now has a fight with the human punching bag Joshua Cottey who probably throws 3o punches a round. Yet, Floyd is a cherry picker…That’s even funnier.

I love boxing. I even liked mike tyson in the earlier days. But for some reason i cant adapt to floyd. Even if he is american. With mike you know the guy was crazy. With floyd , he is just sniveling lil weasel..who likes to contradict himself over and over again. The funny thing is some ppl believes what he says. Floyd hasn’t fought any 1 of those guys that you mentioned now THAT’S FUNNY! Come on man call a spade a spade. I’m not saying that you need to be on Pac nuts but the truth is Floyd hasn’t done much. I would love to see Floyd fight the best and if he lost I wouldn’t care because he has great ability. I dont care about his undefeated record and pesonally if I had a fighter I would want him to know what loosing is all about at the right time of course so he understands that he can be beat. So many fighters think they cant be beat so having a good loss or a few is not bad. It jsut depends on when it happens. Boxing is a business but lets get real… I dont give a shit about U.F.C. however, a lot of fighters have losses and people still pay to see them who ever they match them with. Floyd is turning me off to his boxing game. He talks about Mosley’s losses but what about Oscar and Marquez. Come on man. He hasn’t fought but 1 undefeated fighter since Diego (r.i.p.)so im not hearing the whole record thing, P.E.D. thing money thing etc…. I just want to see him fight and kick some ass!

Yes and its unfortunate no one fights for glory nowadays. Its all about the great mullah, dollars, $$$ or whatever anyone else calls it. Thats also the same reason there never was Pacquiao/MOsley because as great as Mosley is till now, he is still a VERY HIGH RISK/MINIMAL REWARD fighter. Even Roach could attest to that. But, contrary to what you just said, I do not blame Floyd for not fighting all great boxers available in the WW division. But if he had at least fought one or two who is legit treat to his throne, he would still be my idol till now. And NO ONE, for the record, NO ONE will ever question his claim that he’s the best fighter there is. But he did not, thats it, HE DID NOT even fought one strong welterweight in his last 5 years. Oh, I believe that if Mosley was available before Clottey that Pac would have gone for him. I would rather see that fight before Mayweather anyways. Boxing is boxing so it is what it is. The Sugar Shane Mosley and Floyd Mayweather fight is going to shit all over the Pacquiao v.s. Clottey fight, big time. Mayweather did everything possible to salvage the fight between himself and Pacqroid. Mayweather should be awarded for doing everthing in his power to make this fight happen. Pac lost his 1st fight to Morales due to the NSAC losing Pacs blood results which forced him to draw blood 2 days before the fight. You have to be a complete f#ck!ng idiot to believe that GBP and Floyd were not aware of that. They know he is not on the sauce BUT they do know that there is an unfair advantage for Pac to agree to the B.S.! Let’s not be stupid…an edge is an edge and I know in my heart that someone would have been paid some under the table money by GBP to administer a “Random Blood Test”at the last allowable time. Im not buying the whole steroid thing and neither should anyone else. Kdd, I love boxing too myself and my first real boxing hero was Sonny Liston. Remember him? He’s great. Then from one boxer to another up to Floyd then now Pacquiao. When i saw DLH in the Olympics, i said to myself, damn this boy has a great future in boxing. Boy, was i wrong? He did not become the PPV King or Golben Boy for nothing. Look what he is now, a golden hypocrite. I said the same thing to Floyd 15 years ago. Unfortunately, during those days, i was wondering how far Pacquiao can go. And oh boy, he went far, as far as one more weight belt and no one in boxing will ever duplicate his record for some very long years to come.

For one… great champions of the past did not DEMAND their opponents to drain themselves to catch weight fights. And, if any of these fighters were asked to take random tests they would have had no problem taking them. Pacquiao had the chance to call out Mosley and he didn’t, that’s because Bob Arum has a safer fight for him to do.

Pete, the 1st Morales/Pacquiao fight was sold by his Manager Murad Muhhamad to DLH. Why? Because Muhammad knows that Pacquiao was already planning and in fact talking to his incoming new Manager as he already found out that Muhammad was screwing him left and right with his money. So he (Muhammad) sold him to DLH who during that would not want to see a Filipino beating the so called great Mexican boxers. Then when DLH tried to buy Pacquiao off from Top Rank, Pacquiao found out DLH’s real intention which was to destroy his career and nothing else. When Pacquiao went back to Top Rank, lawsuit and profit sharing and everything, DLH swear that he will someday humiliate Pacquiao. Thus, the Dream Match was in fact DLH’s project and his intention is just one thing, destroy Pacquiao for a few reason such:
1. Pacquiao beat all the available Mexican great in 3 divisions. Dont forget, DLH is a Mexican himself.
2. When he signed to GBP then went back to Top Rank
3. One last time in the ring before retirement solely to humiliate pacquiao, AND backfired big time.

Also, no one is asking anyone to drain themselves before a fight! Dont you think its just as hard not to drain weight and perform at the highest level. Everybody dehydrates before weigh-in and has a nurse hydrate them after. Im tired of the excuses. Floyd was not going to dehydrate himself because he knew it would affect him. Deyhydrating makes you weak and it does have an effect on you. Unless your a heavyweight. Fighter don’t usually agree to fight at catch weights but they will for the money and a chance for a championship belt later on in their ending career, like Clottey. Clottey has faught 3 known top champions in the past 5 years and lost to all three champions. Yes, he is a damn good test for anyone out there, but that’s it. This will be an easy win for Pacquiao. And lets not forget the HGH issue. Oh, I’m not insinuating of course. Just my opinion.

What does HGH do for you??? Just makes you look great. It does not give you extra strength unless you stack it with sauce and it takes a long time for HGH to kick in. I’ve been told that you dont see results until after 3 kits and each kit takes…. well here you go…As for the duration of a cycle of HGH, it is believed by many that the compound must be administered for a minimum of 20 to 30 weeks to see results. The action of the compound is slow acting and therefore lengthy cycles are needed. So Mr. Romeo I dont believe its HGH. Who knows maybe Floyd is on some shit…At the end of the day they both will be judged on their careers for who they fought and who they did not fight. I dont care one way or another. I just call it like I see it. For example: I liked Naz Hamed BUT knew he would lose to a Floyd, Barrera or Morales because of what my boy Kev Kelley exposed him to. Although I loved Naz I knew he would lose. It is what it is. Hummnn, Clottey is an easy win for Pacquiao. I’ll take that but I would not at all underestimate that guy. He is the 5th ranking Welterweight in the world out of 1466. Clottey is built like a Sherman tank and defintely has every capability to dethrone Pacquaio although I say unlikely. But this should be a good fight. In fact I wanted to go to Dallas to see the fight.

If floyd jr. wants to “clean-up” the sport of boxing, he should have present his concerns on all boxing organizations in the world to conduct such blood test on every boxing event. By this, he will not be accused of being scared to face Manny Pacquiao and making such alibis in order for him not to fight the Filipino champ. “Cleaning up” the sport of boxing does not only concern to the person you want to face with but also to those who are in this sport. If that happens, you will be hailed for what you did to the sport of boxing but not for your own sense of purpose. Manny fights for his people thats why many Filipinos love him. First point - Pacquiao’s accomplishments aren’t abnormal the way Barry Bond’s batting HR average suddenly spiked.
Pacquiao had always been a gifted athlete since he was 16. He was an adolescent fighting full-fledged adult fighters in the professional ring and knocking them out.
Pacquiao was winning and knocking guys out based on raw athletic speed and power. So whatever Pacquiao is doing now (knocking bigger guys out) he’d always been doing even as a malnourished kid.
Now that he can eat right, and now that he has Roach instructing him about the Science of boxing, Pacquiao can now maximize the effectivity of his athletic abilities.
Contrary to Floyd’s argument, Manny’s success isn’t about his improved “speed and power”. Pacquiao always had that even when he was malnourished.
A vastly improved technique is why Manny was able to become number 1 p4p fighter in the world today.
Put it simply, Floyd is nothing more than a bigot who cannot accept that an Asian from a third world country can achieve so much more than he has (based on pure hard work)despite having the advantages of a boxing family.
To satisfy his insecurity, Floyd has to use the “cheating” allegation despite having no proof.
That’s right, all dopers were linked to doctors and drug companies who supplied PEDs. No one can provide a receipt, a witness or any other incriminating evidence that would link Manny to any PED. In fact, Manny can’t even be linked to common drugs like Advil because he doesn’t like taking any form of prescription drugs. And it’s not surprising because the Philippines is a country where “faith healers” still make significant amounts of money. In a culture where faith is more important than Science (especially true in the poorer regions), the concept of PED’s just doesn’t sell.
If you want to give credibility to a sour-graping bigot like Mayweather, that’s your problem.

People who still thinks about the blood testing are really STUPID! Really. STUPID. Did Manny PacMan refused blood test? I think he said he will do the test just not close to the fight night. Does the NSAC requires blood test? Eversince the sport of boxing started no boxer ever had to go blood test on their professional careers. Can you name one? Blood testing are for amatures because they don’t fight for a living and only fights once in every olympic games. Get it? every 4 years if im correct. Now, if you think you’re clean and your employer wants to stick needles in your arms anytime they want (ala Mayweather suggestion), would you let them? just so they can prove to themselves that you are clean. One more thing, despite the fact that Manny started his pro career too early at age 16, he already fought more than 30 times without losing a bout before he steeped in professional career. That already tells you how good he really is even before. And you know what, most of his opponent said after fighting this guy, they said that for the first time in their life they pissed blood after the fight with Manny. His very accurate and very powerful left was his ultimate weapon and that alone was enough on that level. Now he has everything.

I dont understand why anyone would really be interested in Floyd? Is it bacause Mosley and Pac would actually make him fight. Lets get real he is a great defensive boxer but not exciting unless you push it. Hatons fight was good but the fight with an old Oscar was not the most impressive ass whipping that Floyd said he would give. He won a split decision and refused a re-match and retired giving Pac #4# fighter rights. Pac earned it, Floyd gave it up and he hasn’t earned it back. Floyd is boring! Klitchko landed more punches in 10 rounds than Floyd threw against a smaller Marquez in 12. I think we can all agree that Floyd fights when he has to and that he is not like the greats like Leonard, Ali, Jones etc all with whom had excellent skills but gave the fans there moneys worth by always closing the show in each and every match. Floyd does not do that!

I don’t like the fact that Pacquiao pulled out of the Floyd fight. Even more so, I don’t like the fact that Mayweather has not yet signed the dotted line for the shane mosley fight. My advice to Floyd,,,sign the dotted line or retire. My advice to Pac…stop acting like a little girl and drop the lawsuit and stay at 147 after the Clottey fight. I remember A guy buy the name of Naseem Hammed. Somebody wrote a book about him called the “Nazeem Hammed Storey”. Undefeated and knocking out almost 90% of his opponents. People bought into the hype just like they bought into Pacquiao hype, it’s not surprising..That’s what experience promoters do. (Look at Tito Trinidad). If your going to discredit a boxer like Floyd you might as well discredit all of them.
