In an interview for Reuters, David Howman, the head of WADA, basically alluded that Pacquiao must be using performancing drugs. Before Pacquiao fans start reacting, Howman’s statement should be completely understandable since it comes from someone that obviously doesn’t know all the facts. As a matter of fact, his statements completely undermined the credibility of his agency.
First, it said in the article that Pacquiao did not agree to take a test after 30 days, when in fact, he did agree to be tested within 24 days of the fight and right after the fight.
Then he made the statements below, where he basically accused Pacquiao of cheating.
“Your first thought is he is cheating if he is not prepared to do something that shows he is not cheating,” Howman said of Pacquiao, who has never tested positive.
His statement favors Pacquiao since it’s obvious that the head of the agency does not care about checking the facts before making such accusations. With that type of statements, I would not quickly judge an athlete accused of steroids by WADA, since it’s obvious that it’s not a priority for the agency to gather all the facts before making such accusations, as proven by Mr. Howman statements.
WADA is supposed to be a respectable organization and as head of the agency, Howman must uphold that reputation. It’s one thing if another athlete accuses a colleague of using steroids without any evidence, but it’s more ridiculous when the head of an agency such as WADA makes such statements since they should be held to a higher standard. WADA’s job is to ensure that there is a fair playing field in sports, and that includes ensuring that those accused have gone through their due process and factual evidence has been gathered .
But Mr. Howman didn’t bother to do those things and thus completely downgraded his agency’s credibility. Instead of insinuating that Pacquiao must be cheating, he should have criticized the NSAC for not having a more strenuous type of testing. So Mr. Howman, before you make similar statements in the future, do some research first before WADA’s credibility becomes nada.

How can WADA be trusted when its head issues an allegation that supports an allegation. He, being the head of WADA, should not make public utterance of his personal opinion. His public pronouncements should be based on well supported facts.
His statements are self-degrading, putting himself in level with the Mayweather fans who believe hook line and sinker all that Floyd’s camp says and refuse to see logic.

Why does Manny Pacquiao dislike the idea of a bloodtesting within 20 days of his scheduled fight with Mayweather?
Well, there is no scientific basis actually and it may never be understood by those who are not familiar with Filipino or even Asian culture.
But let me just try to educate Howman and his ilk.
Asians and Filipinos are fatalists. We believe in fate, in good luck and bad luck, in talisman and in feng shui.
There are people who feel powerful by doing certain rituals before any endeavour and who forsee victory and success in the manifestations of mother nature.
It is bad omen to sweep the floor before you go to the cockpit to fight game chickens which is a national sport in the Philippines. To some people, it is bad omen to cut your fingernails or even hair before a big undertaking.
Personally, I look and consider the rain as a sign of good things to come, of success. At the start of all of my political undertakings, it always rained and I have never lost in an election. Somehow, I feel more confident whenever rains drop on the launching of any endeavour.
Manny Pacquiao believes in fate having been born in a culture marked by belief in superpowers and superstition. This explains his abhorence to shed blood so close to the fight. It is not that he is taking drugs and wants to hide it to cheat. It is just that he believes that shedding blood saps his power and that it would make him vulnerable.
There is nothing scientific in this and this may never be understood by people living in the parts of the world.
But I believe David Howman and his ilk should understand that the world is not how they alone see it.
This world that we live in is viewed differently by people of different culture and tradition and unless Howman and people like him learn to accept this is as a fact, there will always be conflict in our age and time.
They have a world for that David Howman: Culture-sensitivity.

Here is an article that Carl Lewis a famous AMERICAN track & field athelete admitts he failed 3 TIMES and still was able to compete in his event!! And this Olympic drug test will be in BOXING? Carl Lewis has broken his silence on allegations that he was the beneficiary of a drugs cover-up, admitting he had tested positive for banned substances but claiming he was just one of “hundreds” of American athletes who were allowed to escape bans.
“There were hundreds of people getting off,” he said. “Everyone was treated the same.”
Lewis has now acknowledged that he failed three tests during the 1988 US Olympic trials, which under international rules at the time should have prevented him from competing in the Seoul games two months later.
The admission is a further embarrassment for the United States Olympic Committee, which had initially denied claims that 114 positive tests between 1988 and 2000 were covered up. It will add weight to calls by leading anti-doping officials and top athletes for an independent inquiry into the US’s record on drug issues.
Last week Dr Wade Exum alleged that a ban imposed on Lewis after positive tests for three stimulants had been overturned by the USOC when the athlete said he had ingested them mistakenly in a herbal supplement.
Lewis received only a warning after officials ruled that his positive tests were due to “inadvertent” use. Some scientists believe the substances could have been a masking agent for more serious drugs, such as anabolic steroids.
“The climate was different then,” said Lewis. “Over the years a lot of people will sit around and debate that [the drug] does something. There really is no pure evidence to show that it does something. It does nothing.”
Lewis, who was arrested in Los Angeles on Monday for suspected drink-driving which friends say was the result of depression over Exum’s revelations, won the 100 metres gold medal in the 1988 Seoul Olympics after Canada’s Ben Johnson was stripped of the title when he tested positive for a steroid.
Lewis also won the long jump and finished second in the 200m behind his training partner Joe DeLoach, also named by Exum as having escaped a ban.
Johnson has now demanded that Lewis be stripped of his medals from Seoul, although the International Olympic Committee has no plans to review the situation because it has a statute of limitation set at three years.
“Do you expect him to say anything different?” said Lewis. “I mean we’re talking about Ben Johnson. Come on. Let’s be realistic.”
Lewis, 41, said he was not concerned about the uproar around the world caused by the revelations. “It’s ridiculous. Who cares?” he said. “I did 18 years of track and field and I’ve been retired five years, and they’re still talking about me, so I guess I still have it.”
Moscow is to launch its bid for the 2012 Olympic Games by staging the richest meeting in athletics history, offering a $1m (£630,000) purse to anyone who breaks the 100m world record.
Britain’s Dwain Chambers will join the United States’ world record holder Tim Montgomery and the Olympic and world champion Maurice Greene in an event in which the winner is guaranteed $500,000, nearly 10 times what the gold medallist in the world championships in Paris will earn. Nine other events, including the triple jump in which Jonathan Edwards is expected to compete, will split a prize purse of $3.5m.
Organisers are predicting a sell-out crowd of 85,000 at the meeting on September 20 in the Luzhniki Stadium, the arena for the 1980 Olympics and the centrepiece of Moscow’s bid for the 2012 games, for which its rivals are expected to include London.
The event is being staged with the assistance of Stellar, the British-based management company headed by the former European 200m champion John Regis. “Moscow wants to show it can put on the best meeting in the world to help promote their Olympic bid,” said Stellar’s Mark Brodie. “It’s going to be spectacular.”

Both WADA and USADA have been on the campaign trail to peddle themselves as the authorized agency to perform drug tests for the entire country.
It is big business. It is self-serving.
They are trying to create urgency out of nothing. There is no probable cause so they resort to insinuation. It’s sad that they are doing it at the expense of a man who has been nothing but a gift to the sport.

@smoovone: Random olympic style testings are for amature olympian fighters, period. They only fight every 4years so being tested randomly easy for them. The professional boxers fight like 3 or 4 times a year or even more than that. So taking random blood from them will really take its toll on their bodies. If you know that you are clean and suddenly your employer wanted to do a random test on you just to satisfy them that you are clean, i don’t think you would accept the test either. In fact, Floyd is not even Pacquiao’s employer.

I just hope that when the blood testing comes it would be in full transparency. It should indicate the day and time that it was done. Likewise the results should be released as soon as available. This way we can see if the test is real or a sham and really vent on catching the real juicers. This should be as often as possible as USDA Tygart mentioned that the test window should be the least possible. Should include Xylocaine as well as it is a real deal PEDS as well. Credibility of the testing not only of the boxers should be proven as well.

How about this:
Lidocaine/xylocaine is banned in 49 states except Nevada. It is also not currently listed by the World Anti-Doping Agency as an illegal substance for uses in sports.
Nevada is the residence of Mayweather and WADA which was recommended by Mayweather to do the olympic style random test against Pacman just showed the firts sign that they are on Mayweathers payroll.

Why they are insisting on random testing while Pacquiao has always intend to do testing just right after the fight. This is the most appropriate testing because it is almost same fight time and you can check what ever kind of testing you want. This will give 100% of what he had during the fight night..

Mr. Howman stated his first thought. He didn’t make an accusation or an aspersion, just a simple first thought. You should stop that BS about 30 or 24 days for the testing because it is not adequate if you are trying to detect PED’s or steriods.
