“I’m gonna kill him,” remarked former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson when FightHype’s own Sabrina Montez asked him if the rumors were true about his possible return to the ring. Tyson, along with Hall of Famer Roberto Duran, were in attendance on Friday night at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, where rising prospect Erislandy Lara won a unanimous decision over Danny Perez on Shobox. Although his words were brief, they did leave some questions as to whether or not Tyson is actually making a comeback.
If the rumors are true, however, you do have to wonder exactly “who” Tyson is “gonna kill”. According to some reports, Tyson was said to be in talks with Evander Holyfield for a potential third bout. In a recent interview with FightHype.com, Holyfield did indeed say that he would be open to the possibility of a third showdown, but he denied having any conversations with Tyson. For what it’s worth, we’re told that Tyson did look like he’s lost just a little bit of weight recently, but he’s still far from looking anything close to fighting shape. Still though, considering that promoter Murad Muhammad recently revealed that Tyson had agreed to a fight with Roy Jones Jr., it’s interesting to see that he’ll be attending tonight’s rematch between and Jones and Hopkins.
Just the fact that myself and several other writers have even entertained the whispers of these rumors speaks volumes about the current state of the heavyweight division. Of course, given the lack of interest that the rematch between future Hall of Famers Jones and Hopkins is generating, I highly doubt anyone will be as interested to see Tyson vs. Holyfield 3…or will they? What say you fight fans? Would anyone even be interested in seeing a third bout between Tyson and Holyfield? Let me know in the comments below.

Man, leave Tyson alone. The guy is getting his life together, and boxing ruined him later in his career, so let him enjoy life. Not going to pay a dime to see an old Tyson fight.

Hmm.. Im not really interested seeing tyson back in the ring, he retired a loser and definitely will come back a loser. I will rather wish for a Lewis-Klitschko rematch than a Tyson-Holyfield 3.

Seriously, what would the world be like if we never had Mike Tyson? Since his arrival he’s always been talked about, wondered about. It won’t be until years after he is gone that people will finally stop talking about the guy.
