 “I see a fight between me and Pacquiao happening sooner than everybody thinks. I think it will be a good fight. I think I could give Manny Pacquiao a run for his money. I know he won’t knock me out,” stated former lightweight champion Brandon Rios, who is confident that he’s ready to step into the ring with 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao. Never one to back down from a toe-to-toe, all-action brawl, Rios thinks a fight with Pacquiao would provide the type of fireworks that fans long to see. “I guarantee he won’t knock me out. It’ll be a good fight. It’d be a helluva fight because Manny likes to go to war and I love to go to war.”
Although he has yet to test the waters at a higher weight, Rios believes he has the physical attributes to make the fight extremely competitve, and his opinion, it’s a fight that can be made sooner rather than later. “I think, right now, I have the hardest chin in boxing that nobody can stand. I think their hands get tired hitting my chin. I just smile at ‘em and laugh at ‘em,” he explained. “I think it’ll be a good fight between me and Manny. You know, you never know. It could happen sooner than everybody thinks, but that’s if I keep winning and if Manny wants to do it.”
Currently in talks for a potential clash with Cuban sensation Yuriorkis Gamboa, Rios is hoping to use that fight to prove that he can handle a fighter with quick hands and who punches in all angles. “That’s why I’m waiting for Gamboa, because I want to show the world that the speed, awkwardness, the punches from different angles don’t bother me. They gotta worry about how they gonna handle Brandon’s pressure, how they gonna handle Brandon’s power, how they gonna handle Brandon’s combinations when he’s in the pocket,” Rios continued. “It’s not how I’m gonna handle them. It’s how they gonna handle me, because when I fight somebody, I’m determined to fight and I’m determined to win. I’ll do whatever it takes to win and that’s my job.”
Rios also notes that recent comments made by Pacquiao’s trainer, Freddie Roach, only add fuel to the fire and his desire to step into the ring with his star pupil. “Freddie Roach was poppin’ off about Linares, saying Linares would dance circles around me, and this and that. Look what happened to him when he fought DeMarco. Just like when he said that Khan will make me look dumb like an amateur, knock me out, this and that, and also dance circles around me. Look what happened to him when he fought Peterson, and I think I’m a better inside fighter than Peterson is. That just shows you that, man, that’s just haters. He’s cocky and that’s just haters that keep talking, but it’s all good,” Rios added.

LOL at Rios… he definitely has no idea how hard the guys in the higher division hits. Even if he happen to spar with bigger guys, it is WITH a headgear…
Lightweight Acosta hurt him but couldn’t close the deal, but Pac hits harder and he’s delusional if he thinks his come forward style will bother Pacquiao, BamBam will get his arse whooped the way his friend Margo, Barrera and Hatton had theirs…
Pac will just dart in and out and hit him at will, Pac’s speed alone will give Rios trouble… Brandon is slow in lightweight, how much more in welters…

Rios will fight Manny because of money. That’s all. Did he ever said he will win? Nah. He only said Pacman can’t knock him out. And if knocking out is the only basis for winning Rios would probably win! why? because as he said he “will run for his money!” And who can knock a guy out if the guy won’t fight but run all night long? LOL

THIS IS WHAT BOXING FANS LOVED TO SEE IN A FIGHT. A GUY COMING FORWARD AND GIVE IT ALL HIS BEST. I COULD SAY MARGARITO IS A LOT HARDER AND BETTER THAN RIOS BUT WHEN MARGARITO WAS PAIRED WITH PACQUIAO HAVING ALSO THE SAME ATTRIBUTE LIKE RIOS, EVERYBODY SAID THAT MARGARITO WAS SLOW???

I think brandon is desperate for a good paying fight..I respect him as a fighter and he is good but hes in that level only GOOD! Pac is in a level waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay higher than he is. Pacman doesnt even know him. I think its but logical for him to make a name for himself first by fighting high caliber fighters than making statement like this. If i am pac I wouldnt fight you…What will pac get if he fights you? Nothing…youre still soft…for your safety stay away from pac…he can kill you man

You’re way below the level of Pacman, prove yourself first in the Jr.Welter/welter div. first not by throwing challenge to Gamboa who is two weight div lower than you or even three div lower since you were not able to make 135 in your last fight.What you get in challenging smaller fighter; your just like Sergio Martinez. Go fight bigger opponent your size. Why not fight GESTA at 135 he’s challenging you.
